We are pleased to inform you that the Honeywell HMC1043, 3 axis magnetic sensor, is now available, as RoHS (Reduction of Hazardous Substances) compliant.
In the case of the HMC1043 Honeywell has made changes internally to the part and changed from a Eutectic solder material of 63% Sn to a new solder material of 97% Sn 3%Ag. This change is internal to the package. The material set on the external bond pads has not changed.
The new lead free products will be marked with a suffix of “-” and will be from date code 0825 and beyond.
There is a limited supply of leaded version remaining. The leaded HMC1043 will no longer be available once our current inventory is sold. These will be sold on a first come first serve basis by contacting customer service directly at 763-954-2474. The product sold through our website will be the RoHS compliant version.
Honeywell has been migrating away from products containing lead (Pb) and other RoHS-banned materials wherever possible in our magnetic components.
