Inertial Aerosystems is introducing a low cost, high quality, solid state angular rotation sensor designated primarily for original equipment manufacturers (O.E.M’s). Designated the Horizon unit, it is manufactured by U.S. based Systron Donner Inertial.
It incorporates a one piece micromachined vibrating quartz tuning fork sensing element that gives exceptional stability and reliability over temperature, with high resistance to shock and vibration. Operating from a 12Vdc power supply at <20mA, .with internal power regulation, it provides a simple output interface with a high level (0 to + or - 5Vdc) output signal and a 2.5Vdc reference to allow for differential monitoring of the output. Standard ranges are + or - 90, 100, 200 degrees/sec, with input voltage of 8 to 15Vdc. The unit weighs 60 grams, size 25.4W X 50.5L X 25.9Hmm.
Other features include low drift, fast start-up, while low noise offers higher accuracy and resolution. This innovative product is ideal where space and weight are at a premium and can be customised to various permutations.
