Inertial Aerosystems announce the availability of a new range of highly accurate Digital Barometers manufactured by Honeywell's Solid State Electronics Centre.
These small, rugged barometers are ideal for applications in hazardous areas such as aircraft altimeters and weather buoys. Honeywell's MEMS silicon technology is used to achieve .03% FSD accuracy and .02% FSD stability per year. This performance is achieved over a temperature range of -40 to +85 deg C. An on-board microprocessor allows programmability of pressure units and many other operating features including bus control and a wave motion correction algorithm. A remote power on/off function is useful where battery power is at a premium. Each unit measures 45.7 62.2 24.8 mm and weighs 142 grams. The range includes 16 models with a variety of digital outputs.
Applications include Remote Meteorological Stations, Ocean Data Buoys, Environmental Data Logging, Weather Balloons, Airborne Measurements and Airfield Weather Monitoring.

Inertial Aerosystems announce the availability of a new solid state, dual axis, low cost digital compass module, ideal for OEM's in high volume applications. Manufactured by Honeywell's Solid State Electronics Centre and designated HMR3100, this small, rugged module, costing less than £50 in volume, is designed for low cost applications in vehicle compassing, hand held navigators, antenna and telescope positioning and general navigation systems.
Honeywell's proven magnetoresistive technology gives a heading accuracy of better than 5 degrees with a 0.5 degree resolution. The compass measures less than 20mm square and is ideal where space and weight are at a premium. Output is ASCII (USART). An optional RS232 daughter board with PC software acts as a development accessory.
In addition, a kit of 1-axis and 2-axis magnetic sensors and 2 single axis accelerometers form the building blocks of a tilt compensated 3-axis compass.
